Recently voted favorite cover band of 2007... twice!
Considered one of the Milwaukee's premier cover bands, Mt. Olive performs annually at Summerfest's Miller Oasis, the Wisconsin State Fair, and many of the area's fine church festivals as well as private and corporate functions. The band's broad appeal is due in part to a HUGE song list covering Rock (Top 40, Pop, Current, Classic, Hard), Funk, Country, Disco, Swing, Hip Hop, and Hair Metal; a very eclectic offering.
Since 1994, the band has received numerous awards and nominations including two Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI) awards placing them in the select company of Milwaukee's finest bands. Most recently the band was voted Milwaukee's Best Cover/Tribute band in the Sheperd Express 2007 Best Of Milwaukee survey and the Wisconsin Area Music Industry's 2007 Peoples Choice Award.
Veterans of the stage and studio, Mt. Olive has an impressive pedigree with members having toured, performed, or recorded with such artist as Gary Richrath (REO Speedwagon), Tommy Tutone (Jenny 867-5309), Tommy Holland (Steppenwolf) and Phil Collen (Def Leppard). Most recently the band wrote the current victory song used by the Milwaukee Admirals hockey team.
Play the music people want to hear,
play it well,
have fun doing it!
"For more than a decade now, Mt. Olive has been packing the local clubs with their tight versions of current music covers. Not being of the "Proud Mary" persuasion, the boys keep it heavy even when they're pounding out a version of "Jungle Boogie." A huge set list that ranges from Tim McGraw to Green Day is no doubt one of the main reasons their schedule is always full. Veterans of the club scene and the festival circuit, these guys are sure to be around for a long time." - Sheperd Express
